Gujo Hachiman Castle is known as the Castle in the Sky by those who know it. The area is also famous for being the largest producer of food samples in Japan

Gujo Hachiman Castle is the oldest existing wooden castle in Japan and is designated as a tangible cultural asset by Gujo City. Gujo Hachiman Castle stands on a small hill surrounded by high mountains. When the conditions are right, and large differences in temperature, high humidity, and light winds combine, the castle is shrouded in the morning mist on all sides. The appearance of the castle drifting on the clouds earned the castle the nickname Castle in the Sky. In winter, the silvery snow and the pure white walls of the castle make for a spectacular sight. In addition to its famous castle, Gujo Hachiman is also the largest producer of food samples in Japan. If you are interested, why don't you try your hand at making one at a nearby workshop?
